Merilyce Ver Steeg

Merilyce has lived in Sibley most of her life. She and her husband, Gene, have been married since 1972, and have 3 grown children, one daughter-by-marriage, one son-by marriage, her son’s girlfriend and 8 grandchildren. Before starting at ATLAS in July of 2010, Merilyce was employed at the Sibley-Ocheydan schools for 19 ½ years as an aide, substituting in many other various positions and most recently as the Middle School secretary. She is a member of the First Reformed Church in Sibley and has been involved in many activities and committees throughout the years. Merilyce is very excited about her position at the ATLAS office as the Prayer/Mentor Coordinator and feels this is the job she wishes she could have had years ago; but knows God was “growing her up” for this time and place now.
